Bug#459806: check arguments

I'm saying it's important to have lots of checks against
fumble-fingered users like myself, and even more important when that
fumble-fingered driver is now driving a bus load of passengers.

Otherwise a cat left on a parked 747 could walk across the control
panel and next thing you know it's another "9/11" incident.

OK, you win. Over and out :-)
