Umm, if you really have a burning desire for such a feature, why don't
you add it yourself. The code is out there.  It seems that you have
specific problem that you want solved to meet your needs. Seems that you
would be the perfect person to solve it. If no one else wants it, so be
it. But there is not thing to stop you getting the feature you want -
assuming such a feature can acctually be added. Collin has explained
that it is extreemly unlikely that such a change would go into the
upstream code, but there is still nothing to stop you writing it
yourself. That is the beuty of open source, you can make the code do
what you want, even if no one else likes it.
