Report of ports/DSA sprint to move debian-ports

Hi,

During Debian SunCamp [1], members of the ports and DSA teams met in
Lloret de Mar to move the debian-ports archive onto a new VM.

The old server leda.debian.net was a VM administrated by the
debian-ports team and kindly hosted by DSA. Historically all the
debian-ports services were hosted on a single machine. Over the last
year services have been moved and integrated in the debian.org
infrastructure. The only remaining part was the archive itself.

During the sprint the archive was moved to a new DSA-administrated VM
called porta.debian.org [2] providing the ports-master.debian.org
service. Instead of serving the archive directly from this machine, we
use the existing mirroring infrastructure to serve it from
ftp.ports.debian.org. In addition a CDN [3] is also available, to avoid
using more bandwidth to sync the mirrors than serving the users. With
all these changes the debian-ports.org domain is now deprecated, web
and email redirections have been setup to ease the transition. Finally
the old machine has been decommissioned and shut down.

Please note that a more technical report with the changes from the users
point of view has already been posted on a few mailing lists [4].

We would like to thank Ana Beatriz Guerrero López and Martín Ferrari
for organizing the SunCamp, and the Debian project for travel and
accommodation sponsorship.

Cheers,
Aurelien
