I fully agree. But is the bump upstream to 5.0 happening any time soon?

The patch has now been merged by both LLVM [1] and rustc upstream [2,3].

It also looks like that rustc upstream is skipping LLVM 5.0 and going
straight to LLVM 6.0. Would it be possible that you include the patch
in the 6.0 package as well?
