Can you provide the exact error message and the context where it occurred?

You might have stumbled into a bug.

Ok, thanks. Please let us know if you are running into any issues and try
to describe them as precisely as possible. If possible, just copy all the
error messages when installing from the serial console or just take
a photo with your camera.

You could, but it's not trivial so I don't recommend doing that. The problem
is that you are switching the Debian architecture from "sparc" (32-bit) to
"sparc64" (obviously 64-bit). It is possible to make such a switch, but
it's really not straight-forward.

If you cannot absolutely install with the images I provided, you can
create a new base system on a different manually using debootstrap and
then point SILO to it. But you will also need to make sure to update
the kernel to a more recent version (the udev version in Debian unstable
might be to new for the kernel used in Debian Wheezy).

Thanks,
Adrian
