That would have been me. To be honest, I still don't know what is
causing it, it's an erratic showstopping bug. It's something to do
with the installation itself. Sometimes you can get around it by
flipping around some installation options, but I never got further
than an initial partition and partial installation of the base system.
I thought it could be to do with the serial line itself but that
investigation came to nothing. I'm afraid that to get anywhere you'll
have to treat the netboot as a rescue system that may only get you to
the stage of doing a Linux From Scratch, or you may want to do a
chroot install from within another linux system just to get the basic
system going. If you get somewhere, let me know!
