Someone made dpkg-deb much stricter than it used to be?

The setgid bit on the /usr/src directory (group src) comes with the default
Debian installation. When you create a new directory in such a directory,
the new directory also picks up the same group and setgid bit.

I'm not sure why dpkg-deb needs to insist on this kind of thing... check
the dpkg changelog?
