I'm trying to build a 2.6.26 kernel because the current debian

I get this strange error near the end of the build:

make-kpkg --initrd kernel_image
chmod -R og=rX /usr/src/sparc64/linux-2.6/debian/linux-image-2.6.26 chown -R root:root /usr/src/sparc64/linux-2.6/debian/linux-image-2.6.26 dpkg --build /usr/src/sparc64/linux-2.6/debian/linux-image-2.6.26 .. dpkg-deb: building package `linux-image-2.6.26' in `../linux-image-2.6.26_2.6.26-10.00.Custom_sparc.deb'. dpkg-deb: control directory has bad permissions 2755 (must be >=0755 and <=0775)
make[1]: *** [debian/linux-image-2.6.26] Error 2
make[1]: Leaving directory `/usr/src/sparc64/linux-2.6'
make: *** [binary/linux-image-2.6.26] Error 2

I fixed this problem by running: chmod -R a-s /usr/src

I didn't create /usr/src. I guess it was created when I installed the
kernel source package. Is this a problem with the kernel source
