I have tried several to get boot: to accept new memory sizes (ramdisk_size=16000 and mem-512M ) without success.
Do I have too much or too little memory?
Can someone advise me on the kernel panic and the memory problems?
Thanks

What kind of processors ? You can install a SuperSPARC workstation but the same workstation cannot be installed with HyperSPARC due to a bug in initramfs (bad magic number). I have installed with success a SS20 with 512 MB. To install the same system on my ROSS workstation, I have made the installation with a SuperSPARC, and after, I have replaced this SuperSPARC-II by four ROSS. But I don't use HyperSPARC with 2.4 kernel (SuperSPARC-II are faster...), I only use ROSS with 2.6 to debug the kernel (DMA and SMP).
