I've seen such issues, but never on the "first" disk, only on second
and third on other controlers.  Another person reported it happening
on the second disk on the primary controler.

The sun disk label is corrupted by this, fdisk needs to write a new
one before the full disk is usable.  I did this after install to the
first disk.
