You didn't specify which kernel you are running on your system(s).  If
you have the file /proc/sys/kernel/scons-poweroff make sure the value
within is "1".  If the file does not exist, or is 0, default behaviour
is for shutdown to take you to OBP rather than power-off.  Of course,
you can try typing "power-off" at the OBP to do the same-- not sure if
this works on the Ultra5, but generally is supported by OBP.
