Aha, on the CDs, there was a 'mkisofs' problem where the ISO data would
be largely trashed. Nicolas, run 'file' on your CD image. Is the block
count negative? That would certainly be a problem and I'll have to talk
to our CD mastering guy about it...

I'll inform everyone when I've gotten everything together and I think it

Yes, I believe my initial analysis was wrong. The clincher in this case
that i missed was:

~   RAMDISK: Couldn't find valid RAM disk image starting at 0.

The bug may be the old SILO one where it fails to align the ramdisk in
memory correctly and it gets lost (that no one is skilled enough to fix
except Ben Collins who's off playing championship poker somewhere.) If
so, I really can't help. :(
