The SILO version I have on this CD-ROM is the one in woody. As I see sarge
has a newer version there, but booting via the network results the same
message. (and there's no SILO in that case AFAIK)

So it is exactly the same. Maybe the kernel cannot start for some reason.
The kernel used here is the one in woody (e.g. 2.4.18)

I'm now trying to find a sarge boot floppy that I could use to try to boot
the system.
