Debian on Sun v210

Hi,

We have recently purchased a Sun v210 server and were unable to install
Linux on it.

The startup screen for SILO still appears but pressing <ENTER> to continue
installation results in a hardware reset:

Fatal Error Reset
CPU 0000.0000.0000.0000 AFSR 0210.8000.0000.0000 AFAR 0000.07ff.ffc0.4420

These are the basic parameters:

Sun Fire V210, No Keyboard
Copyright 1998-2002 Sun Microsystems, Inc. All rights reserved.
OpenBoot 4.8.2, 512 MB memory installed, Serial #54187991.
Ethernet address 0:3:ba:3a:d7:d7, Host ID: 833ad7d7.

I have read a note on Gentoo's Sparc page that OBPs with version higher than
4.5.9 are not supported. Can anyone tell me what is the culprit? SILO, the
kernel, or something completely different? We have also tried network
booting but results were the same.

Can anyone suggest me how I can get Linux installed on this machine?

Thanks in advance,

PS: please Cc possible answers as I am not subscribed.
