I'm running Debian 'testing' with the stock 2.2.20 kernel on an Ultra
10 without problems. The burner is a Philips CDRW 2412 -- cdrdao
reports the following:

/dev/cdrecorder: PHILIPS CDRW2412A Rev: P1.5
Using driver: Generic SCSI-3/MMC - Version 2.0 (options 0x0000)

  Rob.
