cdrom boot reading problem

Thank you much for your detailed answer, Tim!

The more I tried, I think I do have a hardware problem.

When I'm in the stop-a -> ok prompt, I used boot cd and it goes fetches
inside the cdrom and it complains about:
bad magic number in disk label
can't open disk label package
can't open boot device

I called the disk zoot-sparc.iso , do I need to use all numbers to label
the disk instead?

Don't know if you have the answer to that.

When I used probe-scsi-all it gives the hard drives targets 0 and 3 as DEC
and Seagate and then target 6 being the portable
cd device it recognized as SONY.

Rgds,
Victor
