kernel compilation

hi

i'm installing woody in a ultra 10 with an elite 3D, i want to recompilate the
kernel 2.4.18, but i have always the same problem:
sparc64-linux-gcc: command not found
i search the egcd package but i couldn't find that
what could i do?

i have acceleration problems with the video card, i want to activate the dri in
the kernel, am i right or what is the correct procediment
