kernel problems SS5

Hi

I've installed Woody on my SS5. The dbootstrap kernel (tftp) could see a qfe
card. I also installed "kernel-image-2.2.20". Now during startup there's a
strange error message, saying that depmod can't find
"/lib/modules/2.2.12-42/modules.dep"! Then I compiled and installed a new kernel
(2.2.20). Again, the same error message.... Why depmod looks for a
"/lib/modules/2.2.12-42" directory, when kernel 2.2.20 is installed? The kernel
is compiled with sunhme support, not as module. Why the qfe card isn't isn't
recognized yet, while it was during the installation process? Are these two
problems related?

TIA, Thomas

PS: There a problem with X too (I did all the "mknod" stuff). But: first things
first....
