APT can't find CDROM

Hi all,

I booted an Ultra5 from CDROM. I installed successfully up to section 7.25
in the sparc intallation manual, "Configuring APT". I choose CDROM as the
source for APT and the reply was that the CDROM could not be found or the
media was unusable.

The CDROM contained disk1 of 2.2r6 that generated an MD5 sum that matched the
value on several mirrors.

I skipped the APT section. I choose advanced dselect. Choose everything.
Cleaned up some conflicts. Logged in. Found no "/dev/cd*".

Any hints on how I can get the CDROM to be seen by the systems?

Thanks,
Mike
