They seem to be missing CONFIG_ROOT_NFS in the kernel configuration for
the sun4u image (it's there in sun4cdm).

apart from that, the linux-a.out image boots my ultra10, but fails with
the following message, which I believe to be due to the above:

  VFS: Cannot open root device "nfsroot" or 00:ff
