Unfortunately still not happy (tried 2.4.17p8). It never gets to the 
typical "scsi hosts: #" line. It does an ABORT, DEVICE RESET, BUS RESET, 
and HOST RESET on sym0. Then doesn't continue (at least doesn't for the 
couple minutes I was willing to wait). That's effectively the same 
behavior as the old driver except that it would continually retry.
