2.2r4 installation problems on an Ultra 1 Creator

Can anyone help me with the following installation problem on an
Ultra 1 Creator?

When I try booting from the Potaro 2.2r4 install disk I get the
the welcome screen asking me to choose whether my device is SCSI
or IDE. After choosing 's' the linux kernel boots from the cdrom
but I get the following scsi controller errors:

esp0: IRQ 3,7e0 SCSI ID 7 Clk 40MHz CCF=8 TOut 167 NCR53C9XF(espfast)

Subsequently, after a few scsi resets only the cdrom is detected, but
not the hard disk. Does anyone have any idea what might be going on
here? I have been running Solaris 8 without any problems so I know the
hard disk is still good. I have also recently upgraded to OpenBoot
3.25 in case that might be an issue.

Thanks,
David
