The solution was to upgrade to Kernel 2.4.5. This made the X-Server
working (together with the posted XF86Config file), removed the strange
messages on bootup and the best: The new penguin logo on startup :-).
Sound is working too without problems (and without a speaker; i never
thought there would be a builtin speaker!).
