Re: (newbee alert) cant save changes to edited scripts.

this seems to be what i have done...pardon me if i am obtuse.

when installing deb, i opt to format sda. as soon as fdisk starts, i delete
the existing partition(s) then hit s,
this gives me three visible (in fdisk) partitions, sda1, sda2(swap), and
sda3(whole disk). then i choose to fdisk sdb, and make 3 (type 83)
partitions, /var , /home , /www . when partitions get initialized, only
sda1 and sda2 get initialized, as root and swap. i never get a chance to
format sda3 and i try to leave things in the OS's COMPETENT hands, cause
this ain't windows ;)

it seems from this post that i should fdisk s the sdb as well as the sda,
this does not make sense or make me happy. not sensical because the currant
partition scheme on it (sdb) seems to be all that's working on the whole
system and not happy because i already feel i have too few partitions.

had redhat on the old sparc before too, obviously was not "done with it" ;)

oh, and Ben, OF COURSE it's user error ;) hence the warning in the subject
;)

i appreciate everyone's time and help!
