I have found my problem : the file /etc/locale.gen has about all the
line in comments. I have remove the comment in front of fr_CH,
and now, with the correct LC_CTYPE (=fr_CH), all is OK.
I don't know if this is the right way to modify the config file,
and even if this is normal to have all commented out.
