Kernel 2.2.1 (with sparc-2.2.1.diff applied) SMP memory leak ?

After upgrading from 2.0.x do the subj on a Sun 630 server a strange
effect appeared.

Just after boot, the server works perfectly. It is not a very fast one
(2 40MHz CPUs), but runs NNTP server, web server and still can be used
as a workstation with KDE desktop.

But after working for a week or two, something happens. It becomes
extremelly slow, it does non-stop swapping and opens a new terminal
window during a minute or so.

As ps shows, NONE of the processes becomes much larger during this week.
But total memory+swap usage grows from 60 to 120 megabytes. And total
memory usage by processes and shared libraries, as reported by "memstat"
utility, is much less than actual memory usage (that is, "memory
used"+"swap used"-"buffers" from /proc/meminfo).

It seems that this kernel has some memory leaks ...
Any ideas ?
