IPX boot - install problem

i'm attempting to install slink on an IPX with 64 MB RAM, and a 424 MB HD, when I encounter the following error after i'm prompted for the root disk. the rescue disk image i'm using is resc1440-2.2.1.bin, any attempts to use resc1440.bin the IPX just hangs while uncompressing the kernel. i've attempted writing multiple floppies, to no avail.
any suggestions? i'm open to anything at this point.
