I also get this error message with the latest xserver-xsun from Debian
unstable. I have an SS5 with one cgsix framebuffer.

An strace (sorry I don't have the exact output right here) tells me
that it tries to open /dev/fb0 but gets an -EBUSY. Then it tried to
open /dev/fb1, and, very strangely, doesn't get an error message, even
though I only have one framebuffer.

I use /dev/fb0 in another program (fbview with oFBis, a framebuffer
library) and that works just fine, so I don't understand why opening
the /dev/fb0 would give EBUSY for the X server.

Greetings,

Tomas
