Thanks, Lerale and others who responded. In searching the archives i
found the messages about being able to run as root but not as a user. I
hadn't tried to run as root but that does work. I suppose that means it
is a permissions issue and i should be able to figure it out from there.
Of course, it would be nice if the installation would handle things like
that.
