I'll look into this in a week or so and upload a fixed version to
stable.

- install the kernel-source-2.0.35 debian package, the sparc 2.0.35 kernel
patch debian package and the kernel-package deb
- change in the kernel source tree: /usr/src/kernel-source-2.0.35
- patch the kernel for sparc:
zcat /usr/src/kernel-patches/sparc/sparclinux-2.0.35-980805.diff.gz | patch -p1
- configure the kernel: make menuconfig
- compile the kernel and build a deb: make-kpkg --revision=custom.1.0 kernel_image
- install the kernel deb package: cd ..; dpkg -i kernel-image-2.0.35....deb

What's the railroad to me ?
I never go to see
Where it ends.
It fills a few hollows,
And makes banks for the swallows,
It sets the sand a-blowing,
And the blackberries a-growing.
