libc5-Programs cannot resolve symbol __xstat

Hello,

as the subject says, my libc5-Programs cannot resolve symbol __xstat. I try
to install debian on a diskless SparcStation SLC and from the very
beginning, I get those errors. I reinstalled libc5 and the program, but to
no effect.

Any thoughts?
