Hmm, I was asleep when the bug was reported, so I couldn't tell Steve (damn 
time difference).
I am a KDE user myself and I've tried it on etch, lenny and unstable here and 
my kde applications work fine. I'll cc Mike on this. If he doesn't use gnome, 
I'll try to get it tested here.
