Why not push to stable?

I am aware of the reason why s.d.o is not mirrored. For the same
reason --- among others --- we are not pushing the updates to
stable. Ignoring propagation delays, it would not really make
a difference.

So I wonder: apart from the aforementioned, why don't we push
security updates to stable? Why is stable static?

Thanks for any info.
