Subject: Securing Debian HOWTO: http://www.debian.org/doc/manuals/securing-debian-howto

Package: www.debian.org
Version: N/A; reported 2002-02-10
Severity: important

The section on securing BIND (5.8) includes examples with syntax errors that are
dumbfounding to someone unfamiliar with BIND. Example:

allow-query { 192.168.1/24; }

should read:

allow-query { 192.168.1/24; };

When starting BIND a user using the version listed on the site will recieve
a syntax error in the log and the daemon will not function as desired.

Suggestion: Review all syntax relating to BIND options and correct the mistakes,
making sure the new examples actually run in a config file.
