Before uploading a package for the first time as member of debian-science

Dear all,

I would like to upload Amp¹ to Debian archives, and I was wondering if
there is anything I should know before doing so?. I followed the
Debian Science Policy about how to fill debian/control fields.

I would be glad to know if I should consider something else.
