Mentors are a bit of a pain, honestly, so I'll just wait. The git tree
is trivial to use, though:

 dima@shorty:/tmp$ gbp-clone git://anonscm.debian.org/debian-science/packages/vlfeat.git
 dima@shorty:/tmp$ cd vlfeat
 dima@shorty:/tmp/vlfeat$ dpkg-buildpackage -us -uc -b
