If I understand correctly, Ruben don't want to specialcase oldstable, 
lintian don't care about backports at all, and you want to follow 
lintian hints, so implicitly don't care about backports at all.

What I talk about is that lintian hints are only that: hints. That it is 
often possible to both comply with Debian policy *and* support 
backporting.


If you don't understand what I am talking about, if you understand but 
don't agree, if you believe I misunderstand, or whatever, then just 
ignore it and let it go.
