I have added http://wiki.debian.org/DebianScience/ComputerAlgebraSystems with some comments (taken from the debian-science mailing list) on the relative merits of Axiom/Maxima/Yacas. Please do add to this - sympy isn't mentioned for example. Sage might also be useful - though it isn't a debian package. Chris
