Hi,

FWIW, I would also like to support the name 'debian-science' as the
name of the project and git as the VCS.

I think the easiest way to get things started would be to just create
a debian-science Alioth project. One needs to be a DD to be able to do
that, I think. After that one can create a debian-science directory on
git.debian.org and add interested people to the group. Then the group
members can create repositories under this subdirectory. If this is
made, I would definitely add my packages there ASAP.

As for the other project infrastructure: git subprojects (or a
superproject) will allow checkouts of all packages at once. A web-page
showing recent updates to the project repositories (like in debian-med
at http://debian-med.alioth.debian.org/ ) can be made by having
suitable post-commit hooks in the git repositories.

Best,

Teemu
