libemf and ooolatex

Hi there,

I have recently found the homepage of OOoLatex, which allows us, from
within OpenOffice.org's Impress, to launch a window in which we can type
Latex code and have it inserted, as a modifiable (resizing, reediting,
etc) figure, in your slide; it seems to be quite similar to Texpoint for
Window$ Powerpoint, but free. The problem is I have not been able to
install it under my Debian sarge i386 or Ubuntu Dapper Drake x86; has
anyone already installed and used it succesfully? Could anyone with better
expertise here try it? The home page is:

http://ooolatex.sourceforge.net/

There are some directions there, but I was not able to make them work: the
test independent of OO does not work (OOoLatex -e png test.tex does not
generate a test.png file) and I was not able to install the macro under my
backported OpenOffice 2.0.

Regards!
