rm> Did you look at .wav format? Another reason .wav format won't "work" for me is the fact that I am actually working on a general purpose DAQ application. In other words, even though *I* am going to use it primarily for audio work, it will be storing/reading general sampled data (e.g., from medical equipment, automated test equipment, mass spectrometers, temperature sensors, etc. etc.). So, I'm going to have to go with some less sound-specific binary format. -Kenneth
