The best option is to use 'debootstrap' to install onto an empty
disk from a running system. You can then use 'cpcmd' to issue
an ipl from that disk to see if it boots. If you have configured
the VM watchdog correctly, it should automatically reboot into the
original system in case of misconfiguration.
