If I am correct, that is because only Multiprise systems with integrated
dasds could do that in the past (on 31bit architectures). The iron you
have were designed to ipl from tape and dasd devices, im suprised that
there is an ipl from diskette option in your se.
If you can boot it, please write me (or the list) how did you do it,
because there are chances that i will also get in hold of an old s390g5,
with some dasds, but without 3490 (tape).
