Yeah, the colors could use some design. There was discussion about the contrast of Debian red on "Rust orange", see https://lists.debian.org/debian-rust/2025/04/msg00040.html and its subthread. My personal opinion now is to put Debian red on pitch black, i.e. https://rustfoundation.org/wp-content/uploads/2024/07/cropped-rust-lang-logo-black-300x300.png but I'm obviously no expert in visual design.
and then, sorry, a https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Crown_cork doesnt remind me of rust (the language). :/ it doesnt have to be the ferris, the crab, but the rust logo is not a crown cork, but rather this bolted crown cord with a big R in it.
I always described it as a cog. But oh well, you could argue it looks like a crown cork.. I'll let the artist know and see if it can be improved.
as said, i'm sorry that i'm blunt, logos are *very* subjective and i'll be happy whatever logo will be chosen.
I do want to make it as good as possible though ;)
(unless explicitly asked for comment, this will be my last comment on this. it's just a logo, and like anything there can be 2.0) it's just useful to have a logo! :)
Thanks ;) -- ,Sdrager Blair Noctis
