Проблема с кулером в debian

На Debian squeeze кулер шумит как пылесос.
Нашел решение с использованием cpufreqd, но ничего сделать не удалось:

Не видит мой процессор:
# cpufreq-info

И собственно:
# cpufreq-set -g ondemand -c 0
Error setting new values. Common errors:
- Do you have proper administration rights? (super-user?)
- Is the governor you requested available and modprobed?
- Trying to set an invalid policy?
- Trying to set a specific frequency, but userspace governor is not available,
   for example because of hardware which cannot be set to a specific frequency
   or because the userspace governor isn't loaded?

При попытке рестарта демона:
# restart /etc/init.d/cpufreqd
restart: Unknown job: /etc/init.d/cpufreqd

Поиск модуля:
# modprobe acpi-cpufreq
FATAL: Error inserting acpi_cpufreq
(/lib/modules/2.6.30-2-686/kernel/arch/x86/kernel/cpu/cpufreq/acpi-cpufreq.ko):
No such device

Хотя файл существует.
