See /usr/share/doc/git-buildpackage/NEWS.Debian.gz. Without you saying exactly what you are running and exactly what problems you had, neither us nor the git-buildpackage maintainer will be able to guess what's wrong on your side. *But* "1.8 source format" makes me think you are trying to import a .changes files instead of a .dsc ... -- Antonio Terceiro <terceiro@debian.org>
