Also note:
$ grep-available -FPackage -sPackage python | wc -l
550
$ grep-available -FPackage -sPackage perl | wc -l
793

I think Python's section is also large because of package for multiple
versions of Python (2.1, 2.2 and 2.3). Ruby also has some 1.6 and 1.8
packages, though a lot less.

Ruby packages seem to linger in almost all sections at the moment: 
admin, devel, doc, editor, graphics, interpreters, libdevel, devel,
misc, you name it.  So I think it would be a logical to put it all together.
This also creates the possibility to find Ruby libraries easier when you
don't know the name, browsing the Ruby section will do.
Expecting the number of packages will grow too, I think it would be a
good idea.
