I'm not sure what to do about this one. The problem is that the
autopkgtests for rocm-hipamd 5.7.1-7 were directly calling binaries from
packages not listed as Depends in d/t/control. The rocm-hipamd 5.7.1-7
autopkgtests invoke binaries provided by the clang-17 package, but they
rely on hipcc to install clang-17. That used to work when hipcc was
based on clang-17, but it fails now that hipcc uses clang-21. The
clang-17 package isn't installed.
I verified that the rocm-hipamd autopkgtests could be fixed by adding
clang-17 to the test dependencies [1], but I wasn't able to upload that
fix because rocm-hipamd 5.7.1-7 would FTBFS on unstable. My guess is
that we should outright remove rocm-hipamd from testing and file a bug
against rocm-hipamd 5.7.1-6 for the incomplete autopkgtest dependencies?
It looks like this bug is once again latent in rocm-hipamd 6.4.3-3 as my
never-uploaded fix to 5.7.1-7 was lost in a merge with 6.4.3-1~exp2. The
underspecified autopkgtest dependency on clang-21 in rocm-hipamd 6.4.3-3
won't affect anything until hipcc moves to clang-22, but I will
immediately correct it in rocm-hipamd 6.4.3-4 later today.

Good point. There's a deprecation warning causing the autopkgtest to
fail. I didn't mention it, but I have a fix pending upload [2]. That's a
blocker for migration, so I will prioritize that upload ASAP.
Sincerely,
Cory Bloor
