Package: release.debian.org Severity: normal User: release.debian.org@packages.debian.org Usertags: unblock X-Debbugs-Cc: emacs-goodies-el@packages.debian.org, sten@debian.org Control: affects -1 + src:emacs-goodies-el Please unblock package emacs-goodies-el This is a prerequest, and emacs-goodies-el is intended for Trixie. If you intend to unblock helm (#1107141), please let me know and I'll additionally file an unblock for project-el (which depends on helm). If not, I'll drop project-el from src:emacs-goodies-el's dependencies, because emacs-goodies-el only transitively depends on helm (via project-el); this was and remains the worst-case scenario plan. [ Reason ] On Tue, 31 Dec 2024 Manphiz refused to adopt helm, but appears to have reconsidered around 1 June 2025. Meanwhile, I was surprised that no other team members adopted this popular package. [ Impact ] Emacs-goodies-el is a heritage high-popcon package that should not silently disappear from a major release. We're also supposed to be good about not violating the principle of least surprise. [ Tests ] NA [ Risks ] None [ Checklist ] [NA] all changes are documented in the d/changelog [NA] I reviewed all changes and I approve them [NA] attach debdiff against the package in testing unblock emacs-goodies-el/42.4
