Dear Release Team,

the KDE project recently released version 5.104 of the KDE Frameworks,
the set of libraries used to build the Plasma desktop and KDE Gear
applications.

I’d like to advocate for the inclusion of KDE Frameworks 5.104 in
bookworm, which contains a good bunch of bugfixes listed at [1] and [2]
including fixes for several crashers.

The 5.x branch of KDE Frameworks is now in maintenance mode since
upstream switched to developing the Qt6-based 6.x versions, and I think
the fixes in 5.104 can qualify as targetted fixes.

Moreover, KDE Frameworks is a set of 83 tightly coupled packages and we
have automated the packaging of new releases a lot, so I think from an
operational perspective it will be less risky to update the whole set
than backporting every patch to individual packages.

Thus I’m looking for a pre-approval to upload all 83 to unstable in
order to get them accepted into bookworm.
I will file the 83 unblock requests if I get your approval, but I need
the guarantee that all of the 83 packages will be unblocked if you
accept to go down that route so the whole set of packages land
consistently into bookworm.

You’ll find the following attachment for review :

frameworks_upstream_5.103.0..5.104.0_nopo.diff.gz
=> the upstream diff without po files
frameworks_upstream_5.103.0..5.104.0_nopo_nodesktop_noCMakeLists.diff.gz
=> the upstream diff additionally trimmed of desktop files and
   CMakeLists.txt build files
frameworks_upstream_5.103.0..5.104.0_CMakeLists.diff.gz
=> all CMakeLists.txt changes alone

frameworks_debian_5.103.0..5.104.0_changelog.diff.gz
=> the debian changelog diffs
frameworks_debian_5.103.0..5.104.0_nochangelog.diff.gz
=> the debian packaging diff without the changelogs

The packages have been uploaded to experimental as a first step.

That's not reviewable from our side and handling 83 unblocks is painful too. Sorry, our workflow doesn't support your request so let's not do this.
